`Vedalam`, is a Decent, Action Entertainer with Loads of Sentiment.
Story :
Ganesh (Ajith Kumar) arrives in Kolkata with his sister (Lakshmi Menon) who is every thing to him. He starts to lead a new life here as a Taxi Driver. On the other side, the City Police Department which is in search of International Smuggling Racket Distributes Some Details to all Taxi Drivers for Information. Ganesh Helps the Police and hence gets Kidnapped by the baddies. Who is Ganesh and why he is here forms the rest.
Analysis :
`Vedalam` makes use of Ajith`s acting Prowess well. His Transformations into Vedalam are a Treat for his Fans and are the Highlights of this otherwise Routine Revenge Saga. The Action Episodes and Sister Sentiments Parts have been dealt with very well. Comedy and Initial half an hour could have been better. All Major Action episodes have been shot well. Over dosage of Mass Elements in 2nd half might irk some. On the whole Vedalam is a watchable one and is a Treat for Fans.
Performances :
Ajith did very well in this. His Attitude and Mannerisms will make Fans go crazy. Although in a Sister role, Lakshmi Menon plays the Main female lead with ease and is more than Adequate. Shruti Haasan in a limited role and run time hasn`t got much to play with and is okay. Soori is hardly Entertaining. The Gang of Villains and other Supporting Cast are fine.
Technical Details:
Stunts are Good although over the top at times. Music could have been better but BGM is Fine. Cinematography and Editing feel Adequate.
Plus :
1. Ajith
2. Action
3. Sentiment
Minus :
1. Comedy
2. Routine Revenge Saga
Overall Movie Rating : 3/5
BoxOffice Verdict :
The film being high on commercial elements has Decent chances to work at the Box-office.
